Each capsule features targeted release technology – with an enteric coating – ensuring that their component bacteria survive their passage through to the intestinal tract (main action site).

Antibiotics, mainly the broad-spectrum varieties, not only eliminate bad bacteria (pathogens) that cause infections, but also a significant quantity of the good bacteria found in our intestines.

By reducing the amount of bacteria that help digestion, antibiotic treatments may occasionally cause diarrhea, a symptom that may seem trivial to some, but for others could be inconvenient enough to lead them to stop their antibiotic course. In such a case, the infection is no longer treated, which could lead to complications.

Ingredients & Usage

Medicinal Ingredients (per capsule):
Active cultures of L. acidophilus CL1285®, L. casei LBC80R® and L. rhamnosus CLR2®.

Non-Medicinal Ingredients:
Cellulose, hypromellose, ethylcellulose, medium chain triglycerides, sodium alginate, ascorbic acid, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, titanium dioxide, dextrose, yeast extract. Contains no gluten.

Recommended Dose:
Adults: To decrease the risk of antibiotic-associated diarrhea, take 2 capsules per day throughout your antibiotic course, as well as for 5 days after the end of your antibiotic treatment. Bio-K+® capsules must be taken at least 2 hours before or after taking the antibiotic dose. This is to prevent the antibiotics from eliminating the probiotic bacteria, not because probiotics interfere with antibiotic medication.
