Silymarin, the active ingredient in milk thistle, is protective for liver cells against various toxins and stimulates the liver’s own regenerative powers. Schizandra berry (Schizandra chinensis) contain lignans, mainly schizandrins, which act to prevent liver damage, promote liver repair and stimulate normal liver functioning.
