Description

Ascorbplex® 1000 Buffered also contains bioflavonoids, which have been shown in increase the bioavailability of vitamin C in supplemental form compared to vitamin C taken alone.

Vitamin C is among the most powerful antioxidants in humans. Vitamin C is a water-soluble antioxidant that can react directly with superoxide and hydroxyl radicals to decrease potential damage to cells within the body. In addition, vitamin C interacts with glutathione and alpha-lipoic acid, and can regenerate the antioxidant potential of vitamin E. Vitamin C helps in the development and maintenance of bones, cartilage, teeth and gums. In bone, Vitamin C helps form collagen in the bone matrix while scavenging free radicals that can be detrimental to bones. Vitamin C supplementation has been associated with increased bone mineral density and lower fracture probabilities in adults.

Vitamin C is also essential in the formation of connective tissue and aids in wound healing by decreasing proinflammatory responses and medicating proliferative and remodeling stages in the healing process.

Non-Medicinal Ingredients:
Stearic acid, magnesium stearate, carboxymethylcellulose sodium, silica, magnesium oxide, tablet coating (polyvinyl alcohol, titanium dioxide, polyethylene glycol, talc, red iron oxide, isopropanol).

Recommended Dose:
Adults: Take 1 tablet daily with food, a few hours before or after taking other medications or natural health products, or as directed by your healthcare practitioner
